Natalee Ann Batchman, the daughter of Michael and Casey Batchman, was baptized by her pastor, Father Terrance Klein, following the Saturday evening Mass. Her sponsors were Matthew and Jenna Sauber of St. John the Evangelist / Clonmel Parish in Viola, Kansas. Matthew is a cousin of Casey. Welcome to our parish, Natalee Ann.
When asked about the baby's name, this is what Casey wrote:
Her first name we wanted something that was a little older but with a spin. We didn’t directly know any Natalie’s. So we put that name on our list. At one point we saw it spelled with two “e”s and thought that looked different and so we thought we would spell it that way if we ended up going that route. We wanted to meet her first before deciding on a name. We both agreed on Natalee after spending the evening with her. Her middle name comes from both of our sides. My mom’s middle name. Michael’s grandma MaryAnn and aunt Sally Ann. While typing this email to you, Michael asked me if Natalie was a saint name and I googled it and coincidentally the feast of Saint Natalie/Natalia is on July 27th. That is her birthday. I’m so shocked to learn this. So cool.
