St. Joseph Ellinwood

Sr. Noella Endowment Memorial At Halfway Mark

13 OCTOBER 2023

When Sister Noella Blick, A.S.C. died this past August, Saint Joseph Catholic School announced a campaign to raise $10,000 to honor Sister at the level of a "Visionary" in the school's endowment foundation.  By mid-October, over half this sum had been raised as the amount collected from parishioners and former students stood at $5,240.

Sister Noella, a Sister Adorer of the Precious Blood, served as principal of Saint Joseph Catholic school for twenty-two years, form 1981-2003.

The Saint Joseph School Endowment Fund contributes more than $6,000 monthly to the operating costs of the school.  Without it, the school would not be in existence today, much less be the thriving institution that it is.  More than any physical object, a memorial in the fund would continue the good work that Sister Noella did when she was among us.

The goal is high, but it can be met with only 100 of her former students contributing $100 each.  It plaque itself would name only Sister Noella, but contributors to the fund, unless they request anonymity, would be published to the parish.

To contribute to the fund, mail your donation to St. Joseph Church, 214 N. Main Street, Ellinwood, KS 67526.  Mark it as a donation to the Sister Noella Memorial Fund.  All money contributed will go directly to the fund.

The Saint Joseph School Council also made a donation to the Adorers of the Precious Blood, the religious order to which Sister Noella belonged in her memory.

The note, copied below, is indicative of the outpouring of affection and acknowledgment being shown to Sister Noella by her former students.
