NOVEMBER 6, 2022 

The annual German Buffet, which is held to support Saint Joseph Catholic School, returned to a full service event this year, with dining once again taking place at the parish hall. 

About 500 meals were sold, a little lower than two years ago, when the event was last full service.  The previous two years it has been a drive-through, take-out event.

Twice the amount of German sausage was prepared for sale apart from the event, and all of it was purchased.

The students reached a new high in raffle ticket sales at $22,587.00.  Earlier in the week, at a school assembly, they picked their own prices based upon the amount of tickets sold.

At the event, the top ten sellers drew the winning raffle tickets from the bin.

Like the Mardi Gras event in the Spring, the German Buffet meets a very specific goal in fundraising for the school.  We want a event that builds community, both among our school parents and with the larger community.  Parents and older student both contribute their labor to the event.

Meredith Joiner, a school council member, has been the lead organizer for this event for the past five years.  Thanks to her and the many parents and friends of the school who helped create a wonderful night of food and fellowship.
