Five Saint Joseph Catholic School fifth grade students have finished their training and were installed as Altar Servers at a special school Mass, celebrated in the presence of "Grand-friends" on the Solemnity of All the Saints, November 1st.  

They are Emalie Joiner, Jeslyn Klepper, Lauren Rugan, Jonah Schlessiger, and Macy Williams.  Parents were present to vest the students, for the first time, in their albs.  

The students were called forward by Mrs. Cami Thomas and joined the community in prayer. 

Father Klein then blessed their albs, saying, "God our Father, you gave your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, to us as both priest and sacrifice.  Bless these albs, cassocks & surplices, which we consecrate to your use, and grant that those who wear them might be always aware of the dignity and the privilege that is theirs in the service of your altar.  ╬ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen."

As each student came forward to receive the alb, Father said, "Receive your vesture as you dedicate yourself to serve at the Altar of God."

The students then donned their albs and returned to the sanctuary to be themselves blessed. 

Father Klein prayed, "Father, in every age your Church continues to offer the pure and sacred sacrifice of Christ our Lord.  Grant that these altar servers may serve with reverence at your altars.  Bless them and keep them faithful to your Gospel and its sacraments.  ╬ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen."
