Work has begun on replacing a number of roofs on the Holy Family Parish Campus. Workers from M & N Roofing in Hutchison have already begun to remove the old shingles from the rectory, as well as its garage and well house. These will be replaced with new asphalt shingles.
This will be followed by reroofing the church building itself, with the exception of the bell tower. The new roof will be metal shingles, which will appear to resemble terra cotta tile. This is being done on the roof of the church primarily for its longevity and resistance to storms, though it should give the church a beautiful, old world appearance.
We are still awaiting the scheduling of the final roof for the gymnasium. It has a temporary roof installed earlier this year, which is holding up quite nicely.
