Every year, our insurer, Catholic Mutual Insurance, visits all three of the parish campuses for inspection.  They then send us a report of what needs to be repaired or changed because of possible hazards.  This can range from electrical outlets to rubber mats underneath the votive candles (in carpeted churches, that is).

For some time Saint Joseph's has been informed that the remnants of a wrought iron fence that used to surround the property from the north of the church to the south side of the school had to be removed, lest someone trip on them.  You must be rather old to remember the fence, but its remnants have been exposed for decades.  

John Siefers has been doing this work throughout the summer, removing the iron pilings by grinding them down and replacing them with cement.  If you see John, thank him for doing this time consuming and onerous important work.

In the photo above you can see a remaining piece of iron, which is part of a retaining wall and therefore not a danger.  The photos below show where the dangers once stood.
