It's been said that vocations are caught, meaning that one is much more likely to desire to become a priest, or a religious man or woman because of contact with someone who already is one. This is borne out by research on the subject of vocations. Very few individuals simply decide that a life of service in the Church is their calling, not without being inspired by someone, whom they personally know, who is already serving.

The problem that this creates today is that, with the decline in the number of Catholic schools, especially Catholic high schools, and the absence of priests and religious sisters staffing them, fewer and fewer young people get to know a priest or a religious brother or sister.

With this in mind, our cluster is hosting an evening with the Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters of Wichita, Kansas, on Sunday February 5th.  The day begins at the Saint Joseph Parish Hall at 3:00pm.  The sisters will make an interactive presentation on religious life and their own particular work in the Church.  This will be followed by a half hour of prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament and will culminate with a supper at 5:00pm.

Father Klein would like every young woman in junior or senior high school, or college for that matter, to attend this very special, first-ever day for our cluster.  Parents in the three parishes of the cluster are asked to see to it that their daughter responds to this invitation, so that we know how many to prepare for.  To RSVP whether or not you are planning to attend, if your are from Immaculate Conception or Holy Family Parishes, please email Carla Liebl at This email address is being protected from spambots.
