The Grand-friends of Saint Joseph students were treated to an extraordinary morning of theatre on November, 1st, the Solemnity of All the Saints.

Traditionally, the day has been without classes, but this year the students were in school so they could celebrate Mass and meet their Grand-friends.

A reception followed, and it included two plays about the saints.  The first was "Saint Elizabeth of Hungary," was presented by the 7th grade students.  The second, "Saint Joseph" was done by the 8th grade students.

The plays were directed by Doctor Catherine Strecker.  She was assisted by frequent and longtime substitute teacher, Mike Westerman, who also arranged for the costumes to be loaned from the high school's collection.

These were fully memorized, completely staged, long plays.  Father Klein said that he thought the were the best ever produced by Saint Joseph Catholic School, indeed anywhere in the Catholic Diocese of Dodge City.

Doctor Strecker said that she had told the students, before they began, to concentrate upon what message the Lord might desire to be shared through them.
