Recently, Immaculate Conception Parish had one of its chalices re-platted in gold.  This work was done by the Ziegler Church Goods Company in Wichita, KS and Tulsa, Oklahoma.  It was paid for with funds from the Altar Society, which exists to care for the needs of the altar and our worship.  We no longer wash any of the parish chalices, because they are made with precious metals and are typically composed of more than one piece.  Soapy water isn’t good for the metal or the seams, where it enters and remains. 

Fr. Klein had once heard this chalice referred to as the “Msgr. Stephen Reif Chalice” but no one at the Tuesday morning coffee klatch was able to confirm this.  Does anyone know anything about the history of this chalice?  It’s certainly looking lovely after its refinishing!
