On Sunday, September 22, 2019, the Immaculate Conception Altar Society hosted its annual Fall Luncheon and Fun Day. This great event is the largest of the year for the church’s Altar Society.
The menu was carefully planned and included roast beef that has been slow-cooked for most of the week, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans. There were various salads like pasta salad and Cool Whip salad to compliment the assorted pies and cakes (all homemade of course).
After a delicious meal, there were games for the kids, including the fish pond, Plinko, and a bean bag toss, a raffle for homemade quilts, gift baskets, and other donated items, and games for adults - it wouldn’t be a Catholic event without bingo!
The ladies of the Altar Society work very hard putting on this annual event, which is greatly anticipated. This year, a special thank you is shared with last year’s High School PSR class who spent several evenings painting the pedestals and playing boards for the cake wheel game, which had started to look pretty worn with faded numbers. Now it’s gleaming and we really appreciate their contribution to this annual event!
A good time was enjoyed by all and we are all looking forward to next fall's Fun Day!
