St. Joseph Parish Picnic Crowns New Champions

On August 4, 2019, St. Joseph Parish held its annual parish picnic in conjunction with the St. Joseph Catholic School Parent's meeting. Parish members and students enjoyed the return to the potluck meal organized by the Pastoral Council.  Parish members mingled with school families while new teachers and new families were welcomed.

The highlight of the evening was annual egg toss competition. This year's competition boasted record participation numbers and the newly crowned champions were Mark and Heather Panning. It is rumored they added a new chicken to the family roost to produce enough eggs for their daily practices leading up to the big event.

Following the potluck and egg toss competition, St. Joseph Catholic School parents convened for a brief meeting. Father Klein spoke on the mission of a Parish school to assist in the faith formation of children and their families. And while he celebrated the growth of St. Joseph Catholic School, now with 83 students, he reminded parents that we do not exist to be an alternative to the public school, but to evangelize our faith within our parish and our community.  School Council members spoke about new fundraising plans for the school year, including a Mardi Gras themed ball to be held in the spring.

Good food, good fellowship, and growing in faith. The parish potluck was a success.
