Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 4th, 5:30 pm, for the annual St. Joseph Parish Picnic!! As you may have noticed, the time has moved to the evening instead of immediately following the 10:30 am mass. The Pastoral Council elected to make this time change to join forces with St. Joseph Catholic School in their annual parents’ meeting. Both the Pastoral and School Councils hope this change will positively impact the parish picnic and strengthen bonds between parish members and families who may not get the opportunity to mingle regularly.
This year’s picnic will be a pot-luck. Fire-up your favorite casserole, green salad, smoked meat, jello-fruit salad, or desert and join us for food, fellowship, ice-cream sundaes, and the annual egg-toss competition! Drinks and tableware will be provided. Love and laughter will be shared by all.
The pot-luck will begin at 5:30, with the egg-toss competition and ice-cream sundaes slated to begin about 6:30 pm. The parents’ meeting for St. Joseph Catholic School families will begin immediately thereafter. Children are welcome to stay during the parents’ meeting, and middle-school students will be asked to assist by playing with the younger children.
A community of fellowship, prayer, and support is a community that thrives in the future. We look forward to seeing as many parishioners and school-family members as can fit in the parish center, Sunday, August 4, 5:30 pm!
