Alex Hammeke is a senior this year at Ellinwood High School.  He is the son of Mat and Amy Hammeke.  Alex has 2 siblings: Monica who is a sophomore at Ellinwood High School, and Nathan who attends 6th grade at St. Joseph Catholic School. 

If you have ever watched Ellinwood football or basketball games on the Eagle Sports Network(on tv or on youtube) this year, the voice you hear is Alex.  Alex has been broadcasting all the games for the 2018-2019 school year.  Last year as a junior, Alex broadcasted all the Central Plains football and basketball games.  In addition to broadcasting Ellinwood games, Alex is the announcer at the Barton Community College home basketball games.  At school, Alex does the morning announcements every day.  In addition, he has worked the stage crew for school musicals for the last 4 years.  He has also competed for 4 years in the Scholar’s Bowl and has been a member of Stuco (Student Council) for the past 4 years.

I asked Alex what he did in his free time. First, he laughed and said, "What free time?"  Then he said he likes to hang out with his family and friends.  So I asked him what he and his friends like to do.  Alex’s response was "to skype and play games." 

Alex’s plans after high school are to attend Barton Community College and pursue a sports management degree working with the Sports Information office  We, here in the St. Joseph Parish Community, wish Alex good luck in his future plans!
